Dressage Lessons

Whether you ride your own horse or one of our school horses, Peggy’s dressage lessons will help you achieve harmony with your horse to become a better rider.

Peggy gives every rider a high level of attention. She asks riders to develop a habit of riding with physical and intellectual awareness. Riders will learn what it is they are supposed to do, why they are doing it, how it is to be properly executed and how it will affect the horse. Riders are challenged to focus on all aspects of riding, including body control and coordination, which in turn contributes to more refined aids with better timing. With a combination of better awareness and understanding, the program is designed to help the rider gain the strength and elasticity that allows them to follow the mechanics of the horse’s gaits with the improvement often expressed by more harmony between horse and rider. In Peggy’s program the ultimate result with lessons and training is increased satisfaction and pride in personal growth, progress up the levels, and the resulting success in the competition arena.

School Horses

Clients who are interested in either a lesson or training program, and do not have a horse available to them may contact us to see about the availability of lesson horses. The fee for use of lesson horses varies on training and availability. Full service grooming and tacking service is available.

I am a beginner rider in this beautiful world of dressage training.

From “Day One,” my level of instruction was developed to fit my goal: learning the proper riding technique to improve my skill level and to benefit the horse I am riding. I am not, nor do I have any desire to be, a competitive rider.

At Peak Performance Dressage (PPD), I have the privilege of working with an amazing instructor who challenges me during each lesson, and always puts safety first.  In addition, PPD has many amazing members, whom I enjoy interacting with at the riding club.

– Mary Icenogle (71 years young)

As a little girl wanted to know about horses and to learn the sport of riding. My family could not accommodated this desire, so as an adult, I started looking for this experience. I was fortunate to meet Peggy Klump by an unforeseeable event that led me to start taking lessons with her. Under Peggy's guidance, I was able to succeed in learning not only riding but horsemanship. This is a rare thing to have a trainer who is interested and willing to teach many different topics related to horse care as well as the sport of riding. With Peggy's assistance, We found an outstanding School Master and I was able to earn my USDF rider bronze medal.

If one's goal is to learn about horses, horse care or the skill of riding, I could not more highly recommend Peggy to assist you in meeting this goal.
